State Senator Greg Dolezal is the GRA’s endorsed candidate for Lt. Governor in 2026. He won the Republican nomination after a runoff. His Democrat opponent in the general election is State Senator Josh Laurin, who had the second worst score of any senator at the capitol in 2026.
During the most recent term of office, Sen. Dolezal sponsored a good bill that would have closed primaries in Georgia. He is an election integrity advocate who courageously filed a lawsuit against Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to force him to allow poll watchers and non-partisan election observers in the election night operations center for the 2026 Republican primary after the Secretary said observers would not be allowed.
Sen. Dolezal also sponsored SB1 the “Riley Gaines Act” which protects Georgia girls by prohibiting biological males from competing in female sports or using female locker rooms, showers, or sleeping quarters.
In 2022 Sen. Dolezal was one of the few legislators who voted “No” to a bad bill that gave an unjust tax exemption to data centers.
Sen Dolezal also sponsored a good bill, SB 486, which would have prohibited Georgia courts from enforcing a foreign law if that law violated the U.S. Constitution or Georgia Constitution.
Dolezal proposed an amendment in the 2026 Special Session to a bad bill, SB 3EX, that would have at least required the top two races on the ballot to be counted by hand, thereby partially eliminating the concern about the QR Code. It passed in the Senate. However, that provision was removed from the bill in the State House before it was finally passed into law. The final version of SB 3EX ultimately postponed removing the QR codes in Georgia’s election systems from its deadline that had been set for July 1, 2026.
Based on his overall lifetime score, Dolezal is projected to be more consistent with Republican principles than any previous Lt. Governor in Georgia, if elected.
